Home About Rosita Gottlieb About Rosita Gottlieb Rainforest Conservation

Welcome to the rainforest on canvas - Artist Rosita Gottlieb's stunning expressionistic images dedicated to rainforest conservation.

Inspired by conservation efforts in her native Costa Rica, this acclaimed painter has been exhibiting her work in galleries and museums and bringing the message of conservation to thousands through the medium of art.

Her on-going series, wrote Aubrey Simpson in a cover article in United Airlines' "Hemispheres Magazine," is "a mystical journey that begins in the mysterious world of the rainforest and leads to other more personal uncharted mysteries. Her primary medium is oil, in which she blends various natural materials such as marble sand and beeswax. This thickly textured paint is then applied to the canvas using a knife to create a rich, hypnotic, multidimensional effect."

Gottlieb, who currently lives in Los Angeles, launched her professional career thirty-five years ago in Central America. She has exhibited throughout the world, including Mexico City, London, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Taipei, Hong Kong, Panama City, and San Jose (Costa Rica).
